MORE INFO: Legislation, sponsored by NYS Senator Joe Griffo, who-chairs the New York State Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus with NYS Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, and currently in review by other state legislators, would lower the minimum age for big game hunting with a firearm in the state to 12. Conservation and outdoors advocates are encouraging the legislation as a way to encourage youth participation in outdoor activities.
